Gassan Khuntan Golf and Resort opened in 1999. The course was a collaborative design effort between a team of Thai architects and the Gassan management team. The main design philosophy was to create a “links-style” golf course set within the beautiful mountainous landscape of Northern Thailand.
The course is situated in a unique and distinctive location near Doi Khun Tan National Park in Lamphun province. This area is known for its lush forests and scenic mountains, which provide a truly tranquil and natural atmosphere.
The design emphasizes playing with the natural terrain, featuring large sand dunes and deep bunkers, which are signature elements of links-style golf. At the same time, it offers stunning mountain views, making it a truly unique course in Thailand.
Today, Gassan Khuntan Golf and Resort is still known for its challenging layout and beautiful scenery.
Number of Holes: The course has a total of 18 holes with a par of 72.
Course Condition: Although it is an older course, it remains well-maintained, ensuring the fairways and greens are always in playable condition.
Challenge: The course’s challenge comes from its undulating terrain, deep sand bunkers, and strategically placed water hazards. Players need both accuracy and strategy to score well.
Highlights: In addition to the course, the resort and other amenities are still in operation, making it an ideal place for a relaxing round of golf and a quiet getaway.
