The Gassan Legacy Golf & Resort course has an interesting history. It was not built from scratch but rather was a major renovation and rebrand of the original Gassan City Golf & Resort.
The Original Course: The Gassan City Golf & Resort originally opened in 1999 and was designed by Thai architect Santi Woranan. Its defining features were a water-heavy layout and a more “urban” atmosphere, as its name suggested.
The Renovation: In 2012, the course closed for a massive renovation and was relaunched as Gassan Legacy Golf & Resort. The new design was inspired by some of the most famous golf holes in the world, with the goal of creating a single course that combines the challenges of various legendary layouts.
Today, Gassan Legacy Golf & Resort continues to be a highly popular destination.
Number of Holes: The course has a total of 18 holes with a par of 72.
Challenge and Highlights: The new course’s main attraction is its mimicry of famous golf hole designs. This includes a hole inspired by the island green of the 17th at TPC Sawgrass in the U.S., and a hole similar to the one at Royal Troon in Scotland. This provides players with a diverse and highly challenging experience.
Facilities: The resort features a beautiful and modern clubhouse, as well as amenities like a restaurant, a pro shop, and quiet accommodation.
