Tour Code : S001
Duration: 4 Hours
- Doi Suthep Temple
Doi Suthep Once you’re up the mountain, you’ll see a large cluster of souvenir stands and stalls selling food and drinks before you head up to the temple. Grab a snack if you’re hungry, and then it’s time to climb the 306-step staircase (or take the funicular). The staircase is flanked by beautiful jeweled naga (ornate serpents) and as you walk, the majestic staircase is a great spot to take pictures.
- Meo Hilltribes Village
The most famous Hmong village in Chiang Mai is ‘Doi Pui’, located near Doi Suthep temple. This area has been widely promoted by tourism authorities, and so this village is quite touristic and there’s little to see in the way of real village life. Although the village mostly consists of souvenir stalls, these are an important source of income for villagers, therefore buying souvenirs from them. Therefore ensures they benefit directly from your visit. At the top of the village there’s a small museum showcasing various artifacts and information about the different hill tribe groups. There’s also a small manicured garden at the front, where you can rent traditional Hmong costumes to wear for a just-for-fun photo shoot.
